Project Description
The Network Building was a rehabilitation/adaptive reuse of the former Wellston Early Childhood Center into the headquarters for the Community Impact Network and Equity Homes, both non-profits serving the greater Normandy area. Originally constructed in 1913 as the Notre Dame de Lourdes School, the brick building’s interior was restructured in 1942 with a concrete frame. The recent rehabilitation highlights many of the original features such as the wood-framed roof and concrete floors, and included reuse of salvaged wood window sashes for interior office borrow lite windows, repurposed chalkboards for new tack or whiteboards, and refinishing of the original doors and built-in cabinetry.
